B4BC AT AIR + STYLE LA 2016

For the second year in a row, Shaun White’s Air + Style brought snow to the city! We had an amazing weekend onsite at Expo Park in Los Angeles where over 40,000 snow enthusiasts and music lovers converged for a weekend of festivities. B4BC was smack in the middle of the action, spreading the word about early detection and prevention.

WOMEN’S SKATEBOARDING ALLIANCE (WSA) JOINS INAUGURAL X GAMES OSLO

Women’s Skateboarding Alliance (WSA), the global management and consulting agency dedicated to authentically representing the industry voice of women’s skateboarding will be producing the inaugural Women’s Skateboard Street competition at X Games Oslo, February 24-26. This marks the first time in X Games history that winter and summer games athletes will compete at the same international event.

B4BC’S CHASING SUNSHINE SURVIVOR MOUNTAIN RETREAT

We just wrapped our 9th annual winter Chasing Sunshine retreat for breast cancer survivors in Aspen, Colorado—a weekend full of positivity, wellness and healing. We are honored to have be able to fund scholarships for eight breast cancer survivors to attend this retreat, hosted by pro snowboarder and breast cancer survivor Megan Pischke, to connect these women with a nature-based wellness and sustainability experience that enhance their path of healing and long-term survivorship. Megan was diagnosed with breast cancer in the Fall of 2012, ironically after hosting a B4BC surf and wellness retreat for breast cancer survivors.

B4BC at the SIMA IMAGE AWARDS

B4BC was honored to be included in the 2015 SIMA Image Awards last night as one of SIMA’s Humanitarian Fund nonprofit partners in Anaheim, CA. The evening was full of surf industry icons, as well as everyone’s favorite brands—including longtime supporters and partners of B4BC like AMUSE SOCIETY, Volcom, SUN BUM and Mizu.

B4BC’s Chasing Sunshine Documentary Nominated at the Women’s Image Network Awards

We were honored to be part of an inspiring night at The Women’s Image Networks (WIN) Awards, Wednesday evening, February 10, 2016 in Los Angeles, for B4BC’s nominated documentary Chasing Sunshine, co-directed and featuring our Wellness Ambassador, Megan Pischke. The documentary follows, Megan, who is a former pro snowboarder, through her breast cancer diagnosis, the rigors of treatment, and a very raw account that hasn’t been seen before.

Thousands of X Games goers came by the B4BC booth in the ESPN Corporate Citizenship tent to get autograph signings by Team B4BC riders Jamie Anderson, Elena Hight and Kaitlyn Farrington, take the B4BC Prevention Pledge, and learn how to Check One, Two. We’re all about teaching the youth the best ways to prevent breast cancer and this was an amazing place to do just that!
