B4BC IN YOSEMITE // FIND YOUR NATURE VIBES

Time spent in the natural world is good for the mind, body, and soul. It’s important that we connect with Mother Nature on a daily basis to help balance out the busy work/life that we’ve all become accustomed to.

Last week B4BC team rider, Mimi Knoop, Mahfia.tv’s Kim Woozy, and myself experienced a 4-day adventure in Yosemite National Park camping, hiking, swimming, star-gazing, and finding our “Yosemite Secret Spots”. A week later we’re still flying high from the nature vibes!

PAUSE FOR PREVENTION // FARMERS MARKET

The Farmers Market is a great place to find local, organic produce, and support your community as well! Shopping at a farmers’ market is a great way to meet local farmers and get fresh, flavorful produce while avoiding GMOs and pesticides (double check with your local farmer to make sure!). Need help finding one by you? Online resources like www.localharvest.org or www.farmersmarket.com help you find farmers’ markets in your area, often with live entertainment and unique vendors! Search for one near you to find your newest weekly ritual!

TASTY TUESDAYS / / Yummy (Homemade) Hummus!

Hummus is great for a quick healthy snack with veggies before a hard workout or as a full meal with pita bread. Hummus is a great source of protein, vitamins, amino acids, minerals and fibers. Also, it’s best to make it yourself because store-bought hummus can be full of unhealthy preservatives.

Hummus is a healthy choice because it contains tons of omega-3 fatty acids which is great for keeping a healthy heart. Also, chickpeas don’t contain any cholesterol or saturated fats, and garlic and lemon are filled with antioxidants that help fight cancer and strengthen immune functions.

To help you make the best effort at avoiding GMOs while shopping at the grocery store, we wanted to share six recommendations from FOOD MATTERS on what to look for and what to avoid.
