CANCER FIGHTING FOODS // Reduce your breast cancer risk + your carbon footprint with this food group

Climate change may seem to many of us a challenge too daunting to tackle directly through our own actions. But there is one small change each of us can make to play our part: We can shift our diets so they’re healthier and more environmentally sustainable. The type of food we choose to eat makes up a large part of our personal carbon footprint. The meat and dairy that make up 22 percent of diets in the developed world emit large amounts of greenhouse gases — particularly dangerous methane and nitrous oxide. But there’s a more understated food group that has a relatively tiny carbon footprint and is highly nutritious and rich in protein and essential micronutrients: pulses.

Pomegranate is without a doubt one of our favorite foods this time of year! Sweet and tart. Tangy and juicy. Delicious. CANCER FIGHTING FOODS // Natural Antibiotics for Cold + Flu Season

Winter means cold & SNOW (can you tell we’re excited?) but for many, winter also means cold + flu season. However, the antibiotics often prescribed usually wind up doing much more harm than good, killing off healthy bacteria and the bad pathogens. While antibiotics do have their place in medicine, why not think about reaching for a natural solution when you can? Mother Nature has some pretty amazing things to offer us!

CANCER FIGHTING FOODS // Immunity Boosting Tea

As we head into the holiday season, many of us begin feeling the mounting pressure to manage it all – travel, gifts, guests and amazing food. With memories of childhood gently nudging us to create magic for our own families, we often push ourselves to the edge, feeling run-down and sometimes even sick. Our immune systems become taxed due to a lack of sleep, lowered vitamin D levels, disrupted exercise routines, and poor nutrition. We absolutely LOVE the holidays but not if it means we can’t join in on the festivities and fun. This year we’re taking a hint from our friend Kris Kelly over at Goofy Foot Foods! She recommends starting each day with a positive intention and a cup of Immunity Boosting Tea, to help your body stay healthy and set the tone for “Balanced Abundance.”
