Did you see the Travel Channel’s article featuring B4BC about getting outdoors and adventuring as a great way to promote survivorship and get active to prevent breast cancer? They think you should catch a wave with B4BC…and we think so too! Being active 30 minutes a day, three times a week, can significantly reduce your risk of breast cancer, and does wonders for your overall health. Besides, who needs an excuse to go adventuring?!

You know what’s great about skateboarding? Well, a lot, but today we’d like to focus on the fact that it’s an awesome workout. Skateboarding can burn 100-450 calories an hour while improving your core strength, balance and coordination. And what better way to get really aggressive with your skate routine than to join B4BC’s 18-mile Skate the Coast event THIS WEEKEND?! Fundraising for a good cause AND getting a killer workout? We all know that it feels good to give back, but did you know that it may even make us happier / healthier people?

More and more research is revealing the health benefits of volunteering. The latest comes in from a study from the University of Exeter (UK). Researchers found a strong positive link between volunteering and well-being. For example, volunteers had a 22% lower mortality rate than non-volunteers, and they also had higher self-esteem and happiness!
