CHECK ONE, TWO™ CAMPUS OUTREACH TOUR

The Check One, Two Campus Tour posts up on college campuses coast to coast each Fall to provide peer-to-peer communication and education on how to reduce your breast cancer risk. Students receive “coaching” on methods of early detection and have an opportunity to experience what a “lump feels like” through the use of life-like jelly breast molds. Students also can test their “Breast & Health Knowledge” and win prizes with a Q&A game session designed to help identify fact from fiction, dispel common myths, and prompt a conversation about health practices conducive to a young person’s daily life.

CHECK ONE, TWO™ OUTREACH ON THE ROAD!

The Check One, Two™ Outreach Experience is on the road year-round bringing a unique peer-to-peer educational approach to school campuses, music festivals and youth lifestyle events nationwide. B4BC official partners and team riders often make special appearances in support of our message at some of the biggest events out there, from the X Games to the Vans Warped Tour, U.S. Open of Surfing to Burton U.S. Open of Snowboarding, and more. To find out where B4BC is headed next, check out our Events section!

BE HEALTHY. GET ACTIVE. RIDE! CAMPAIGN

Our Be Healthy. Get Active. Ride! Campaign, featuring B4BC’s team riders, was created to encourage girls (and guys) everywhere to get out and ride in support of B4BC’s mission to promote a healthy, active, and sustainable lifestyle. Studies show that poor diet, lack of exercise, and engaging in the outdoors can increase the risk for breast cancer and other chronic diseases; B4BC’s intent is to inspire young people to take charge of their health and their environment and participate in board sports and other fun outlets for prevention. The campaign launched in Fall 2012 and continues to drive year-round awareness of B4BC’s board-a-thons and educational content initiatives like B4BC Basecamp.

B4BC SKATE SERIES

Join our growing community of riders committed to the cause! Each year, B4BC hosts longboard-a-thons (shortboards allowed… and cyclists, unicyclists, and inline skaters) that unite communities while promoting an active and sustainable lifestyle in a super fun way! Net proceeds raised by sponsors and participants are allocated to B4BC’s prevention programs as well as local area non-profits that support B4BC’s mission. To date, our signature Skate series has raised over $255,000 through both Skate the Lake™ (Tahoe) and Skate the Coast™ (L.A. County)!

SHRED THE LOVE™ BOARD-A-THON AND FUNDRAISING WINTER SERIES

Front page: Shred the Love is a way of being – healthy, active, sustainable and aware. Since 1998, B4BC has been hosting grassroots events in partnership with local mountains as a platform to promote healthy, active, and sustainable living. In 2011, B4BC created the Shred the Love campaign to elevate awareness of our Winter Board-a-thon Series and encourage nationwide participation in the program through online and on-mountain activities. In 2012, the campaign received a nomination for the Most Creative Fundraiser by the Stay Classy Awards!

B4BC BASECAMP

B4BC Basecamp is a health & wellness, and sustainability platform with information and fun, immersive activities such as upcycling, under one area through the support of the SIMA Humanitarian Fund and other supportive partners. B4BC Basecamp comes to life in key areas including our print journal, mobile app and online information, and on-site experiences at events such as Shaun White’s Air & Style and the Supergirl Pro. We are excited to bring B4BC Basecamp to more events in the future.

THE CHASING SUNSHINE SURVIVOR RETREATS

B4BC recognizes the growing need to support the breast cancer community, especially young women who have a different set of needs, with over 3 million survivors in the U.S. alone. In 2009, B4BC established the B4BC Survivorship Fund to connect breast cancer survivors with nature-based wellness and sustainability experiences that enhance their path of healing and long-term survivorship. With the debut of B4BC’s documentary, Chasing Sunshine in 2015, the fund was rebranded as the Chasing Sunshine Project and now provides valuable information in addition to annual Mountain + Ocean retreats.

B4BC YOGA HEALS

B4BC Yoga Heals is a community-based program that seeks to promote health + wellness through yoga, while fundraising for the B4BC Survivorship Fund. Feel great about your health while paying it forward for those in need of support. Yoga does, in fact, heal!
