Join our growing community of riders committed to the cause! Each year, B4BC hosts longboard-a-thons (shortboards, cyclists, unicyclists, and inline skaters allowed) that unite communities while promoting an active and sustainable lifestyle in a super fun way! Net proceeds raised by sponsors and participants are allocated to B4BC’s prevention and support programs as well as local area non-profits that support B4BC’s mission. To date, our signature Skate series has raised over $255,000 through both Skate the Lake™ (Tahoe) and Skate the Coast™ (L.A. County)! If you are interested in sponsorship or bringing an event to your town, please contact email@b4bc.org.

About Skate the Coast™ and Skate the Lake™:
Skate the Lake, now in its 13th year, is a one-of-a-kind longboard-a-thon that covers a 28-mile stretch in beautiful Lake Tahoe. Its sister event Skate the Coast, now in its 10th year, runs along an 18-mile portion of the Southern California Coastline from the Santa Monica Pier to the Redondo Beach Pier. The series attracts skaters young and old and of all abilities to push for prevention. If you aren’t comfortable on a board, hop on a bike or rock some skates, we welcome anyone who wants to join in and be a part of the growing community. Some participants dedicate their ride to a friend or loved one, others just love to shred the love. Whatever the reason, it’s guaranteed that your first time won’t be your last!
Since their inception, these events have collectively had over 1,300 participants, fundraised over $255,000, and gained media coverage from national and local media. Funds raised support B4BC’s education, prevention, sustainability, and support programs, as well as local area non-profits including the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center and the Cancer Support Community of Redondo Beach.
