COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT // Surfing for Life Foundation

Letters like this fill our hearts with hope + happiness. Tom Brown was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2008 and founded the Surfing for Life Foundation in between nearly 40 rounds of chemo as a way to raise cancer prevention awareness amongst the surfing community. Through his iconic blue wristbands and cancer screening events, the Surfing For Life Foundation donates back to organizations that align with that mission. Tom comes by the B4BC office and drops off a check for us every quarter, and to date has donated over $3,000. Thank you Tom for all the good work that you do, and for being an inspiration to those fighting cancer everywhere!

EARLY RETIREMENT FOR B4BC TEAM RIDER KAITLYN FARRINGTON

It breaks our hearts to announce this, but Team B4BC rider and Olympic halfpipe gold medalist Kaitlyn Farrington will be retiring from competition due to a spinal condition. We are behind her 100% as she navigates the next steps in her snowboard career and inspires us with her always sunny attitude, and can’t wait to see what is next to come for her!
