breast cancer prevention // Fitness for Snowboarding with Kimmy Fasani

This week we’re sharing a post with you from Burton Girls that features our B4BC team rider Kimmy Fasani! Snow season is still in full force and they’re sharing some great tips to keep us as fit as possible during this time year, and all year for that matter! The better you prepare your body for snowboarding, the harder you can ride all winter long. The B Project is a Carlsbad, CA-based gym that helps many professional snowboarders strength train. Kimmy Fasani put us in touch with the B Project to bring you a Burton Girls exclusive snowboarding fitness series, and this is the fifth article. Get more information and exercises from the other fitness articles in this series.

cancer fighting foods // Chia Pudding Parfait

It’s time for another amazing recipe from our friends over at Goofy Foot Foods. Breakfast always has and always will be one of our favorite parts of the day and it’s definitely because recipes like this one exist. This super quick parfait pairs a delish chia pudding with a breast cancer fighting smoothie that is sure to satisfy. Our nonprofit is all about teaching the youth about how a healthy, active lifestyle is the best way to prevent breast cancer and this breakfast is kid friendly and perfect for anyone on the go!

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT // Surfing for Life Foundation

Letters like this fill our hearts with hope + happiness. Tom Brown was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2008 and founded the Surfing for Life Foundation in between nearly 40 rounds of chemo as a way to raise cancer prevention awareness amongst the surfing community. Through his iconic blue wristbands and cancer screening events, the Surfing For Life Foundation donates back to organizations that align with that mission. Tom comes by the B4BC office and drops off a check for us every quarter, and to date has donated over $3,000. Thank you Tom for all the good work that you do, and for being an inspiration to those fighting cancer everywhere!
