B4BC’s 9th Annual Skate the Lake [Tahoe] was an unprecedented success, fundraising over $20,000, more than TWICE the amount from last year! Our awesome group of 100+ participants skated or biked 28 miles around parts of the gorgeous bike path surrounding Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley this past weekend to raise money for B4BC’s education and prevention programs, and had a great time doing it.

Some were pushing in honor of loved ones who have battled breast cancer, and many came out to support B4BC’s mission of a healthy, active lifestyle and the importance of early detection.
Friday kicked-off with the Registration Party from noon-9 p.m., which included 9 musical acts throughout the day, open air yoga, silent auctions, raffles, food, drinks, and more.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing support of Skate the Lake founders Curt Sterner and Chuck Buckley, volunteers Allison Smith, Blake Flanders (GoPro), Sabrina Hallgren, and Willie Martini, and supporters Kim Kirch (Skate the Lake poster and shirt artwork), Kim Woozy (MAHFIA.TV) and Allison Smith (Anchored in Photography) for photos, and B4BC Team Rider Mimi Knoop.
