We all know that it feels good to give back, but did you know that it may even make us happier / healthier people?
More and more research is revealing the health benefits of volunteering. The latest comes in from a study from the University of Exeter (UK). Researchers found a strong positive link between volunteering and well-being. For example, volunteers had a 22% lower mortality rate than non-volunteers, and they also had higher self-esteem and happiness!
Like Gandhi once said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
So whether it’s on a local or national level, find your passion and give back. If you’d like to learn more about B4BC volunteer opportunities please visit our “get involved” section at b4bc.org.
