October is now in full swing and we are totally enjoying what we believe to be one of the most important months of the year (Not that all the other months aren’t important, this just happens to be our favorite)! This month we get to talk even more about the something we are oh so passionate about, BREAST CANCER PREVENTION.
This month is all about raising awareness for breast cancer but we want to make sure you know that there are some great steps you can take in order to PREVENT breast cancer! Being aware of how different things affect your body is super important when it comes to fighting off those nasty cancer cells. Many people don’t realize it, but only 5-10% of breast cancer cases are genetic. That means that all other cases are caused by outside stimulants, many of which we have plenty of control over.
There are some super easy things that you can do in order to drastically lower your breast cancer risk. We’ve compiled what we have found to be the 7 best ways you can take your health into your own hands and do what you can in order to protect yourself.
- CHECK YOURSELF: Remember your monthly breast self-exam
- BE ACTIVE: Get your body moving
- EAT YOUR GREENS: Give your body what it needs
- LIVE GREEN: Better environment = better you
- DON’T SMOKE: Quit if you do
- LIMIT ALCOHOL INTAKE: The more you booze, the more you lose.
- LOVE YOURSELF: No better kind of love
