We all know that eating our greens is important…but it’s, like, VERY important! Leafy greens are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients, all things that our bodies LOVE—and if you’ve checked out our 7 Steps to Stomp Out Breast Cancer recently then you would know that “Eating Your Greens” is pretty high on the list! Leafy greens are somewhat of a secret superfood because people just don’t realize how many amazing benefits they can get out of them! For example:
Leafy greens contain large amounts of vitamins A, C, E and K as well as several B vitamins
Rich sources of minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium
High in fiber, low in fat and carbohydrates
More nutrition per calorie than any other food
Some people may disagree but we think greens are DELISH. There are so many amazing ways to incorporate greens into meals, whether they are steamed, chopped up in a salad, or even blended into a green smoothie (check out our Quick and Clean Salads and Smoothies for some easy recipes)! There is no shortage of greens and definitely no shortage of ways to chow down on them.
