The 10th Annual Skate the Lake [Tahoe] event was the best to date, raising a record amount of over $25,000 for Boarding for Breast Cancer’s education, prevention and support programs! We had the most incredible day with skaters of all abilities pushing 28 miles for prevention & in honor of loved ones affected by breast cancer.
Some were pushing in honor of loved ones who have battled breast cancer, and many came out to support B4BC’s mission of a healthy, active lifestyle and the importance of early detection.
Friday kicked-off with the all-day Registration Party, which included live music by acts like Chuck Ragan and Actors Killed Lincoln, open air yoga, silent auctions, raffles, food, drinks, and more.
We could not have achieved this success without the love and support of our amazing participants, sponsors and the community of Lake Tahoe, and we want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make it happen!!
We want to recognize our top fundraisers of the day:
1st Place: Steve Gatlin, $2,690
2nd Place: Jason Knight, $2,100
3rd Place: JoAnn Rawkmom Gillespie, $1,995
We want to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of our sponsors and supporters, especially presenting sponsor Fugoo, and also GoPro, Sector 9, Hurley, and Mizu. We’d also like to thank local sponsors Hartline Construction, Mamasake, Tahoe Longboards, Yoga Studio Tahoe, and Tahoe Dave’s for helping to make this event a success.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the ongoing support of Skate the Lake founders Curt Sterner and Chuck Buckley, and also Allison Smith, Travis Weber, Margo Stoney and Constance Beverley.
The love & support of the Tahoe community makes this a truly special event and we cannot THANK YOU enough for all who helped make this event such a great success!
