B4BC was stoked to once again be invited to take part in X Games Los Angeles. B4BC’s Check One, Two educational outreach experience was on-site for four days, offering record crowds the opportunity to learn about early detection and the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle. B4BC’s newest campaign, the Prevention Pledge was active on site, encouraging them to be their own advocate by committing to one positive healthy lifestyle change. Have a look. What would you pledge for yourself?

In partnership with our friends at GoodPeople, B4BC hosted our first ever all-girls Boarding School – a Be Healthy. Get Active. [Learn to] Ride! initiative. For 3 days, these schools offered free all-girl learn-to-ride skate and BMX sessions, with the support of the Girls Riders Organization. B4BC guest coaches included prolongboarders Cami Best, Cindy Zhou, Caitlin Yong and X Games athletes Mimi Knoop, Allysha Bergado and Candy Jacobs. Additional demos were provided by an all-star roster of groms including The Vrklan sisters – Annika and Clara, Poppy Starr Olson and Jordyn Barratt, with the support of The Alliance.

As part of the school’s curriculum on Saturday, B4BC organized a very special panel of women in action sports to discuss their path through life, the role they play as athletes and role models, and why living a healthy, active lifestyle is key to their success. The panel, moderated by ESPN’s Alisa Mokler, featured B4BC Team Riders Mimi Knoop and Allysha Bergado as well as proskaters Lizzie Armanto, Alana Smith and pro enduro X rider Maria Forsberg.
