Give your morning a twist with this recipe that takes orange juice to a whole new level! Using some pretty simple ingredients, you can quickly whip up this juice that will have you refreshed and ready to start your day(or afternoon for that matter), while majorly benefiting your health at the same time. What could be better than that?
All you need is an orange, a lemon, a few carrots, some coconut water, a bit of agave nectar, some ginger and the key ingredient, turmeric, to make this deliciously refreshing, and healthy treat!
The use of turmeric dates back all the way to the seventh century a.d. with use in both Chinese and Indian medicine, primarily as an anti-inflammatory. However, our friends over at the American Cancer Society have found out turmeric can help with much more! Curcumin, an antioxidant and active ingredient in turmeric, has been found to interfere with a few very important molecular paths within our bodies, interfering with the development, growth, and spread of cancer.
Not only this, turmeric has also been known to help reduce cholesterol levels, protect against liver disease, and help with the digestive issues. The list of benefits goes on and on!
So, what are you waiting for? Go pick up some turmeric and start juicing your way to better health while enjoying every sip of the way!
