Okay, we know it sounds pretty strange! Avocado and smoothie just don’t seem like they should go together in a sentence, let alone in something we put in our mouth. But… this recipe shows us how to make a powerhouse smoothie that is sure to satisfy your taste buds & your body! Packed with fruits and veggies, this A M A Z I N G superfood smoothie is begging to be made and will provide your bod with an extra dose of cancer-fighting carotenoids & vitamin E!
You may think that adding avo to your smoothie will give it a super funky taste, but that is where you are wrong! When combined with all the other yummy ingredients, the taste is completely camouflaged and you’ll still get all the insane health benefits (and a perfectly creamy smoothie). Avocados are one of our favorites for so so so many reasons! Avos have a super high concentration of carotenoids, an antioxidant that protects cells from free radicals, nasty little things that destroy cell membranes and DNA. Not only that, but eating avocados also increases your body’s ability to absorb even more carotenoids. Rich in vitamin E, these little green guys also help stop cells abilities to reproduce, therefore slowing or stopping the replication of cancer cells. Vitamin E is also responsible for apoptosis, a process where bad cells kill themselves off and healthy cells remain intact. If you need even more reasons to enjoy avo, they include a large amount of healthy fats, in this case oleic acid, which helps your body to absorb all those cancer-fighting antioxidants and phytochemicals. Avocado is a superhero when it comes to food, no wonder we call it a superfood!
Basically, combining all the amazing fruity flavors with the ever-so-amazing avocado, gives you the best smoothie on the planet! Because of the healthy fats in this smoothie, you will be left feeling refreshed AND full, not like you could still go eat a meal. We are absolutely stoked on this recipe and cannot wait to make it for breakfast tomorrow (if we can wait that long)!
