We recently wrapped up our 2017/18 Shred the Love Winter Series and are so excited to share this highlight video from the final stop and where it all began, Sierra At Tahoe.
Many thanks to our resort + community partners and to the thousands of individual fundraisers, participants and supporters who helped Shred the Love with us all winter long!
We are honored to announce that with your help we were able to raise an incredible $70K, visit 15+ resorts nationwide, and educate thousands of people on the importance of early detection and prevention. Not to mention the hundreds of smiles + high-fives! All of the funds raised during the winter series go towards B4BC’s education, prevention, support and survivorship programs. Shred the Love is a way of being: active, healthy, and aware – and we did just that at a dozen mountains nationwide.

The inaugural Boarding For Breast Cancer event was held at Sierra At Tahoe in honor of Monica Steward who had passed away at the age of 26 – just three weeks before the event. B4BC founders’ goal was to educate the importance of early detection and prevention amongst young people through board sports and music. 22 years later on eve of Sierra Shred the Love, B4BC received news that our dear friend and team member Michelle Zwirn had lost her battle at the ripe age of 27. Through this tragedy we have learned that there is still work to be done and our mission is more relevant than ever. Michelle’s energetic spirit was with us that day and will live with in our organization forever.
Special thanks to Chelsea Miller, Steven Hemphil, John Rice and the entire staff at Sierra At Tahoe for helping us honor our girl in such a beautiful way.
