SESSIONS DONATES PROCEEDS TO BOARDING 4 BREAST CANCER
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. Sessions, a leader in snowboard apparel, has designed two special jackets and a t-shirt as part of their Snow 08 women’s outerwear collection. Proceeds from this jacket will be donated to Boarding 4 Breast Cancer (B4BC).
Sessions has a long tradition of giving back to the community, and for Snow 08, Sessions will offer two B4BC jackets and a t-shirt. Sessions will be donating a portion of profits from those selected women’s styles to support efforts to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
For the Snow 08 B4BC offerings, Sessions contacted Swedish artist Amanda Mendiant who studied graphic design and illustration at Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm. It was Amanda’s idea that inspired the B4BC campaign Know Yourself. Her idea was to visually show the importance of protecting your breasts by placing a female character on the back putting her arms around the jacket and the girl inside of the jacket, protecting the owners breasts. I feel that the illustration on this Sessions B4BC Jacket visually illustrates the importance of protecting and taking care of your breasts in a humoristic, feminine and punkish way said Amanda. Sessions couldn’t agree with her more.
Sessions has been involved with B4BC since day one, and it only made sense to broaden Sessions offerings where more proceeds go toward the cause, says Cindi Busenhart, President of Sessions. Hopefully with all of the efforts made by B4BC it will give women more knowledge which will enable early detection. Know yourself! Know your breasts self examine them regularly! Sessions is honored to help give back to a cause that gives back to women!
The B4BC jackets will be sold with an attached shower card to educate and encourage all women to have regular mammograms and perform self-examinations. Awareness and early detection are key in the fight against breast cancer, so Sessions, along with Boarding 4 Breast Cancer aim to promote awareness of breast cancer within the snowboarding community. Donations will be in memory of Lynne Long, step sister to one of Sessions owners that lost her battle to cancer.
