We were saddend to hear the news earlier today that snowboarding pioneer Tom Sims has passed away. Tom’s innovation in snow and skate helped revolutionize the two worlds! He’s credited with creating the world’s first metal-edged snowboards, freestyle snowboards, the first women specific boards and pro-models, building the first snow half-pipe, and the list goes on. Tom also helped pave the way for women’s snowboarding pioneers & B4BC co-founder’s Shannon Dunn and Tina Basich. Earlier today Tina B. expressed her gratitude to Tom…
“Thank you for all the memories and unbelievable support back in the good ol days for this red head girl that was just trying to make her mark in this new sport called snowboarding, you gave me that opportunity.
