It’s with a heavy heart that we say good-bye to long-time B4BC friend and Beastie Boy, Adam Yauch. Adam passed away this morning after a 3-year battle with cancer. We truly lost a great one today—our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the entire Beastie Boys crew.
You’ll forever hold a special place in our hearts Adam, thank you for your support and inspiration over the years! RIP MCA xo
Here’s a shot of Adam and the Boys playing under the name Quasar at the first ever Boarding For Breast Cancer event in 1996…
“It was an amazing day in honor of our dear friend Monica. Perfect weather and conditions. The Beasties were playing under the name “Quasar” thinking they could keep it under wraps. Over 5,000 people showed up and Sierra had to shut down the mountain. Helicopters circling – they rocked it out on a stage our friends built. The stage was starting to sink when the Boys went on. Somehow we were able to keep it from collapsing thru the set. Kids were jumping on and off the stage, snowballs were flying. It was a magical time. On that day our foundation was born.” – Lisa Hudson, B4BC Co-Founder
