Mizu Selected as the Official Water Bottle Partner for Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC)
Custom designed Mizu bottles on the road with B4BC for Skate the Coast starting Oct. 29
Encinitas and Los Angeles, Calif. — Oct. 25, 2011 — Mizu has been selected by Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) as its official stainless steel bottle partner. Mizu stainless steel water bottles have been custom designed for B4BC and will be incorporated into B4BC’s new Be Healthy. Get Active. Ride! initiative that encourages participation in board sports and healthier living overall. The bottle makes its debut October 29th at B4BC’s Fifth Annual Skate the Coast longboard-a-thon event in Los Angeles.
“Mizu was founded on the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle while also being conscious of our environment by eliminating the use of plastic water bottle,” said Mizu founder, Jussi Oksanen. “Partnering with B4BC is ideal because of our similar missions and shared outreach to the action sports community. It also gives us an opportunity to broaden our reach into a more mainstream healthy, active lifestyle demographic. We look forward to collaborating regularly with B4BC.”
These specially designed bottles are also available through the CCS x B4BC Collection at www.ccs.com/b4bc. All proceeds will go back to B4BC.
“Aligning with Mizu, a rider-driven company, was an obvious fit. We both share a passion for the board sports lifestyle and a commitment to healthy, eco-minded living,” said Erika Seward, director of development, B4BC. “Mizu stainless steel reusable bottles will be in the mix during all of our community events, providing a BPA-free way to stay hydrated.”
Mizu bottles are backed by a lifetime guaranty, as well as advocates Arto Saari, Jussi Oksanen, Annie Boulanger, Nicolas Muller, Alex Gray, Stash and Kazu Kokubo, among others. Along with its advocates, Mizu partners with brands like Burton, Volcom, Nike 6.0 and Hurley to further support and integrate into the action sports lifestyle. About Mizu
Mizu was founded by professional snowboarder, Jussi Oksanen (four-time Winter X Games medalist, three-time US Open medalist and Olympic athlete), and world-renowned “Movie of the Year” snowboard cinematographer, Brad Kremer, in order to drastically reduce the plastic bottle trail that followed them on their travels. The action sports lifestyle is unique, and Mizu bottles have become the reusable bottle of choice. The bottles are made from food-grade quality stainless steel — the strongest and safest material for drinking bottles — to demonstrate that reducing waste while remaining true to one’s style is possible.
