ITS TITS! At Timberline
May 1-4
B4BC joined forces with SNOWBOY PRODUCTIONS, JESS KIMURA and BARRETT CUMMINS/ MERVIN for the 2nd annual spring ladies shred, dedicated to having fun and being creative on big mounds of snow shaped like BOOBS!
We started our weekend off right at evo Portland for an IT’S TITS Launch Party where Jess Kimura hosted a special screening of her UnInvited movie and we had live music by Amanda Richards and the Good Long Whiles. We had an amazing evening celebrating women in snowboarding with the UnInvited Ladies in the house, along with snowboard icons – Leslee Olsen, Barrett Christy, Amy Eichner, Tricia Byrnes, Megan Pischke, and B4BC co-founder Shannon Dunn Downing.
A big thank you to evo Portland for hosting us, to 10 Barrel Brewing Co. and Happy Mountain Kombucha for providing tasty beverages, and to YETI, Dakine and Smith for providing prizes for our raffle and silent auction. The party was a big success and we raised nearly $1500 that evening for B4BC’s outreach, education and survivorship programs!
Thursday was a beautiful blue bird day and we headed up to snowboarding’s historic Timberline Lodge to kick off the four day event. Throughout the weekend, B4BC had our full educational outreach tents at the Timberline base and were able to get registrants signed up and educated over 500 ladies (and men) on how to perform a self-breast exam.
We had local snowboard shop Mountainology on hand for free wax jobs for all participants, blasting some sweet tunes and with the It’s Tits! Mascot, Winston in tow rocking a pink lei! With over 100 invited athletes and 155 Public Day registrants, it was sure to be a pretty sweet show!

The first day was spent cruising, hiking and imagining what to do next.
Krush and the Snowboy Productions team built a stunning course. And if you have ever hand dug a snowboard jump, you would know just how much time, hard work and precision it took this crew and several volunteers to create this masterpiece.
It was full of mounds that looked like boobs, avocados and two huge breast cancer pink ribbons that were able to be hit from multiple directions. Everything was built with options to slash, transfer, hand plant, jump and to create tons of different lines. The stoke level was at an all-time high! The laughter, high fives, and sheer excitement were some of the best parts. Although sunburnt and crispy, the hiking and creativity continued through the weekend with some of the best and upcoming ladies in snowboarding putting on a spectacular shred show. The ladies could be seen giving pointers to one another at any point, stacking clips and making new friends.
Saturday night, the ladies of Gnu stayed on the course well past last chair for a sunset photo shoot while the rest of the girls cruised down to The Ratskellar for a raffle + silent auction benefitting B4BC.

Day 4 was B4BC’s day to shine…
After a much anticipated 3 days of invite-only access to the course, it was finally Public Day! We registered over 155 local shredders who came to support the cause for a $20 drop-in fee. We even had some dude shredders make the trek all the way from Superpark 22 to get some of the infamous Snowboy Productions build action. People of all ages and abilities showed up to ride with their favorite ladies and support the cause. From girls to guys, skiers to snowboarders, the sense of community was strong and good vibes even stronger.
ITS TITS! was a huge success. Over $9000 was raised to support B4BC’s education, prevention and survivorship programs. The female snowboarding community was given the platform to thrive, and that’s just what they did.
Thanks so much to everyone who supported us in being a part of this fantastic women’s snowboarding event- especially to Timberline for hosting, Krush and Snowboy Productions for kicking ass, Jess Kimura for being badass and talented, all of the volunteers who showed up day after day, Mervin snowboards and Barrett, evo Portland and all of the ladies who showed up every day!
And a special thanks to Gnu Snowboards, Monster Energy, Dye Cut Stickers and 10 Barrel Brewing whose support made the event happen!
Can’t wait to see you all again next spring!
Love Team B4BC
