Maintaining a positive attitude can help assure good overall health in all realms— physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Having that positive attitude in regards to how you view yourself (aka loving yourself) is one of our 8 Steps to Stomp Out Breast Cancer & whether you realize it or not, self confidence is a huge part of loving yourself. We want you to trust yourself and to have faith in your goals, dream, and desires. These qualities will propel you to go for what you want, without letting any obstacles get you down. Confidence plays a big role in living your happiest and HEALTHIEST life and we’re sharing 10 surefire ways to elevate that sense of self worth. Here they are:
- LEAD YOUR LIFE WITH YOUR HEART
Stand tall and you’ll immediately feel a boost of confidence. You may not be able to see it when you look in the mirror, but your heart is working hard for you day in a day out. It deserves to lead.
- SMILE
It’s contagious. Be happy about the blessings in your life! You’ll make someone’s day.
- ACT LIKE YOU’RE ON A MISSION
You’ll feel fierce and confident right away.
- GET OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE, try something new and overcome a fear. Perhaps it’s signing up for a race, talking to someone new, or going to the front of yoga class! The more you do this, the more you’ll feel like you can take on the world!
- BE BOLD
Wear red lipstick, bold colors and never be afraid to go after what you want!
- BREAK A SWEAT
Working out will make you feel confident and amazing! It increases your endorphins to help you feel happy, reduces stress and tones your muscles. Your body & your mind will thank you.
- FIND THE BEAUTY IN OTHERS
Compliment people, even if it’s someone you don’t know. And send love notes to your family and friends! Focusing on what you love in others is one of the best ways to feel great about yourself.
- NIX THE NEGATIVE TALK
Whether it’s in your head or out loud, all negative talk needs to go. Each time you catch yourself saying something unkind about yourself or anyone else, just correct it. We promise this will have a huge impact on how you feel each day. If a girlfriend says something negative about herself, make her correct it too… Then compliment her!
- DRESS TO THE NINES
Take a little extra time and take care of yourself by dressing your best wherever you go—even if it’s the gym. When you feel good, you’ll go the extra mile—whether it’s at work, at home, at the gym or on a date!
- REWARD YOURSELF
You deserve it. Do things that make you smile and feel pampered often. Take a bubble bath, treat yourself to new clothes, manicures or a 20 minute break with your favorite magazine. It’s the little things that make a difference!
