GOPRO GAMES // VAIL, CO 2019
June 6th-9th
B4BC hit up GoPro Games in Vail, Colorado with our Traveling Education Booth and enjoyed four days of spreading breast cancer awareness and raising money for our survivor retreats! It was an exciting weekend as B4BC was located in DogTown for all the dog competitive events. Dogs and athletes alike from all over the US gathered to compete in water, mountain and climbing activities.
Silent Auction and Raffle Winners at the B4BC Tent at GoPro Games
B4BC set up camp on Thursday for the first day of GoPro Games. Raffle and Silent Auction were a hit with the crowd as event goers walked around the event’s many tents. We brought out some amazing hand painted Arbor Skateboard decks from artist all over the nation as well as a lot of brand new YETI items for silent auction.
A special 2 day auction from GoPro, YETI and Skullcandy brought in many donations for B4BC, as the prize was too great to pass up! Event goers had to visit the GoPro tent, Yeti tent and Skullcandy tent – take a selfie and then download the B4BC App to win! A BIG THANKS to GoPro, Yeti and Skullcandy for their donations and helping us raise funds for B4BC’s education, prevention and survivorship programs.
GoPro Hero 7 + B4BC Pink Sleeve, YETI Hopper Flip and Skullcandy wireless headphones were up for grabs at the B4BC Tent
With the arrival of the weekend, we had a jam packed crowd on Saturday. It was a special day for B4BC as we had local volunteers from Denver, one who has been on one of our Chasing Sunshine Summer Survivor Retreats help for the day. We estimate that B4BC educated over 2,000 people on Saturday helping women, men and young adults understand the difference between fibrocystic tissue and what a cancerous lump may feel like.
Learning a self exam at B4BC Tent
Closing out the weekend on Sunday, there were several dog champions that stop by the B4BC tent to say hello!
B4BC Friends visiting the Tent!
Over the course of the event, over $5,000 was raised and funds received go to our traveling educational booth and young survivor retreats. With the help of our many wonderful volunteers we educated over 4,000 young people, women and men about the importance of early detection, leading a healthy lifestyle, and to self-advocate! A big thank you to GoPro for all the love and support and to YETI, Skullcandy, and Arbor Skateboards and our many event tent friends for providing all the items for our silent auction and rad raffle!
