Denver-based Core Action Sports hosts fashion show, skateboard exhibition, concert to celebrate women’s action sports; proceeds to benefit related charities
Denver, CO September 10, 2007 The female action sport industry’s biggest and best are expected to gather in Denver October 12th for Core Action Sports one-of-a-kind women’s action sports event and fashion show. The Core Action Sports Winter Fashion Flurry features a runway fashion show, skateboarding exhibition, athlete appearances, live music, entertainment and a silent auction benefiting breast cancer awareness. The party is open to the public, and is the first of its kind in Denver to gather the who’s-who of women’s action sports, with more than 1,000 attendees expected.
The evening’s festivities take place at Mile High Station in downtown Denver, 2027 W. Colfax, beginning at 7:30 pm with an exhibition by some of the biggest names in women’s skateboarding. Using ramps built for the event by Colorado Skate University, the ladies demonstration will exemplify the progression of women’s skateboarding and action sports as a whole. A runway fashion show highlighting the ’07-’08 fall/winter styles from fashion forward action sports brands follows the skate session. Apparel by cutting-edge, fashion-forward brands such as Nikita, Orage, Vans, Betty Rides, Roxy and Section will be shown (full list of lines being shown can be made available). A concert by local woman-fronted indie band Dressy Bessy immediately follows the fashion show.
Attendees will be able to participate in a silent auction, with items donated by local merchants, restaurants, and ski/snowboard resorts and manufacturers. Auction proceeds will benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC). Additional proceeds from the evening’s event will benefit Adaptive Action Sports and the Action Sports Alliance. Throughout the evening, there will be give-a-ways from Core Action Sports and promotional partners.
