B4BC kicked off the winter season at ESPN’s Winter X Games 10, January 27 , 31, at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, CO. B4BC was a part of the Team ESPN tent along with the Jimmy V. Foundation and the Snowboard Outreach Society. Once again the X Games provided B4BC with an amazing opportunity for educational outreach as we were very busy onsite educating and sharing solidarity with thousands of new and old friends! The association between B4BC and ESPN is invaluable for the development of our outreach efforts and fundraising ability, with sincere appreciation, thank you ESPN!
Other activities at Winter X included (Aspen’s) KSPN FM raffling off a Fender Telecaster signed by such X Games greats as Tanner Hall, Kenny Bartram, and Chanelle Sladics, with all proceeds benefiting B4BC. Many thanks to KSPN for all their support!
On Sunday, January 29th, at the Wheeler Opera House in Downtown Aspen, Transition Films screened their epic film, First Descent, for the last time on the big screen before going to DVD. To view the film there was a suggested $5 donation at the door with all proceeds benefiting B4BC’s educational outreach efforts. FYI – the film includes an appearance by B4BC’s, very own, Tina Basich. Thank you to Kevin and everyone at Transition Films for your much-appreciated support! The film is amazing!
Also, while in Aspen, B4BC and Aspen Magazine hosted an Apres Tea and Champagne Fundraiser at Hotel Jerome. The event included a brilliant silent auction, giveaways, and B4BC’s educational booth. B4BC would like to thank all who donated the beautiful items for the auction and gift bags, Aspen Magazine, Harney & Sons, Veuve Clicquot, Hotel Jerome, Deb Doyle, and all who attended the event. Your solidarity is truly appreciated! Thank you!
B4BC would also like to extend sincere thank you’s to Lisa Hudson, Tina Basich, Emily Cochran, Jack Phillips, Ilana Sochaczewski, and all of our volunteers who helped throughout the weekend. We couldn’t do it without you!
