Boarding for Breast Cancer, the original youth focused breast cancer education foundation, successfully celebrated two decades of prevention and support programs for young people, Saturday, April 2nd at Sierra-at-Tahoe resort. Hosted by iconic action sports commentator Sal Masekela, the 20th Anniversary B4BC Snowboard + Music Festival couldn’t have been better, as the gathering of the tribes of pro riders, including feature appearances by Olympic Gold Medalist Jamie Anderson, a Big Air Expression Session, a Photo + Art Exhibition, yoga, as well as musical performances by EFG, Panic is Perfect and the Family Crest. More than $30,000 was raised from ticket sales, raffles, and vendor village fundraisers, and donated to the 501(c)3 non-profit.
Women’s Skateboarding Alliance (WSA), the global management and consulting agency dedicated to authentically representing the industry voice of women’s skateboarding in partnership with The Alliance, a nonprofit association of professional women skateboarders, established the first ever global qualifying event in the history of women’s skateboarding for X Games. WSA is honored to team up with Seattle-based Skate Like a Girl (SLAG) and ESPN’s X Games to facilitate this venture.

Join B4BC at Sierra-at-Tahoe during our 20th Anniversary Snowboard + Music Festival for a special 108 Sun Salutations fundraiser led by wellness ambassador Megan Pischke and Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson. The sun salutation, or surya namaskar (Sanskrit), is a dynamic sequence of movements (asana) performed to celebrate the sun, while building strength and improving flexibility.
We’re back in Los Angeles after an amazing week in Vail, Colorado at the 34th Annual Burton US Open of Snowboarding. We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather for 4 days of outreach and incredible competition. We spent most of our time in the sponsor village hanging out with visitors from all over the world, spreading the word about early detection and prevention.
Over the weekend Taos Ski Valley helped us Shred The Love for our 5th annual winter event together! The action-packed day raised nearly $25,000 for B4BC’s prevention, education, and support programs, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting regional non-profit, the Anita Salas Memorial Fund, which provides financial assistance for breast cancer services in New Mexico.
For the second year in a row, Shaun White’s Air + Style brought snow to the city! We had an amazing weekend onsite at Expo Park in Los Angeles where over 40,000 snow enthusiasts and music lovers converged for a weekend of festivities. B4BC was smack in the middle of the action, spreading the word about early detection and prevention.
