BURTON SNOWBOARDS HOSTS FOURTH ANNUAL WOMEN’S LEARN TO RIDE CAMPS FOR RIDERS OF ALL ABILITIES
Weekend Stops in Copper, CO, Northstar-at-Tahoe, CA and Hunter Mountain, NY
Burlington, VT (January 3, 2008) Burton Snowboards today announced its fourth annual Burton Women’s Learn To Ride (WLTR) Camp schedule for 2008. The Burton WLTR camps are women-only snowboard weekends where ladies can learn to snowboard for the first time, or improve their skills in an environment created specifically for them. The three-day weekend events include the finest instruction, goodie bags, a special event to benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer and of course, the riding experience of a lifetime.
Whether it’s embracing your inner snowboarder for the first time or progressing existing skills, women of all abilities will partake in three days of instruction with top snowboard coaches trained in specific teaching methods for women. First-timers will use Burton’s own specialized WLTR equipment, and experienced riders can choose to use their own equipment or demo Burton’s newest line of boards, boots and bindings. The third and final day, attendees can freeride with fellow campers or stick with a coach to learn more skills.
As a company of snowboarders with a full and comprehensive equipment line dedicated to women, we can offer women riders what no other company can, said Donna Carpenter, Founder & Director, Burton’s Women’s Initiatives. Our Women’s Learn To Ride Camps give campers a chance to meet new friends, have fun and gain confidence they haven’t had on snow before.
Saturday evenings at camp will include a special event benefitting Boarding for Breast Cancer, the non-profit, youth-focused breast cancer education, awareness and fundraising foundation designed to teach women the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Campers will also enjoy a fashion show featuring Burton women’s apparel with a twist: the clothing will be modeled by male instructors at each resort. Every camper will leave with a gift bag filled with limited edition goodies made exclusively for WLTR campers.
