Union Square Street Sessions
Aura360, in partnership with NYC Parks & Recreation, announces the return of New York City’s first major pro snowboarding rail jam to Union Square on Feb. 7, 2008. The Jeep Union Square Street Sessions will showcase a narrowed field of 20 world class competitors who will vie for a $30,000 purse. The athletes will show off their skills on a customized urban rail fabricated with the help of Olympic Silver Medalist Danny Kass at Mountain Creek Resort’s Jib Lab.
The winter sports celebrations will continue in New York City on Saturday, Feb. 9 with NYC Parks & Recreation’s Winter Jam, an open snowboarding rail jam and winter carnival with music, sledding, and other winter activities held at the Central Park Bandshell. An annual collaboration with Aura360 and the Olympic Regional Development Authority, Winter Jam will feature a 20 foot tall Snow Flume, live music throughout the day and the Pride of New York Warming Hut with free samples of New York state’s finest ice cream, cheese and other assorted goods.
