After patiently waiting over 6 months for the return of cold weather and snowboarding, B4BC is stoked to finally make our return to the mountains! Throughout the 2016-2017 season, B4BC will be traveling to over 8 mountain resorts for our winter fundraising series, Shred the Love. Each fundraising technique is different, ranging from lap-a-thons, to rail jams, to night tubing. This weekend we kicked off the series at two of our home mountains, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit!
On Friday, we headed out to Bear Mountain and teamed up with our friends at Arbor Girls for a weekend of all girl shredding and good times. The ladies were able to check out and demo any of the boards supplied by Arbor Girls throughout the day. They also hosted Push 2 Progress ride sessions throughout the day, “pushing” girls to get out there together and try out some new moves. B4BC also had our traveling education booth as well as tons of new merchandise for sale!
On Saturday, we made the move to Snow Summit. Once again, we had our education booth as well as raffles with prizes from some of our sponsors including Volcom, Dakine, Skullcandy and more! Around 12:00, we headed up Chair 3 where competitors were able to skip the line and complete as many laps as possible within an hour timeframe. We then had all of our competitors, supporters, and those around team up and do one final lap together dedicated to someone they know who’s been affected by cancer. The energy could be felt (and heard) around the mountain!
