Thanksgiving Edition!
This thanksgiving, remember to give thanks to a very special certain someone. No, not him. Not her either. I’m talking about YOU! Yeah, you! Be thankful for your body and your mind and your health. You can do some amazing things with what you’ve got, and don’t forget it! Show your body much thanks by partaking in some smart indulgence. I’m all about a heaping plate of stuffing and turkey and potatoes and pie, but none of us wants to feel like The Great Pumpkin (especially while Black Friday shopping…). Check out these great resources for tips on how to feel great about your dinner plate.
A few tips before you get to eating…
1) Don’t skip meals to save up for that turkey dinner! You’ll be more likely to over-indulge. Start your day with a healthy breakfast!
2) Exercise in the morning. Turkey bowl, anyone? Even if you only have 15 minutes, take a brisk walk and enjoy the crisp fall air.
3) Green is good. Start with a salad, and fill half of your plate with green veggies, a quarter with potatoes or stuffing, and the other quarter with turkey.
4) Go easy on sauces and gravy. They’re sneaky sources of sugar, fat, and calories.
5) Most importantly, have fun and enjoy yourself!
