KAITLYN FARRINGTON

After growing up skiing, Kaitlyn’s mom attempted to teach her how to snowboard at Sun Valley’s Lower River Run. It wasn’t until the ninth grade that she joined the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s snowboard team and later made US Snowboarding’s 2008 Rookie Team as a junior in high school. Since then, Kaitlyn’s greatest achievements include being the 2011-12 Dew Tour Champion, earning a gold medal at the inaugural X Games Europe, and taking home gold in the 2014 Sochi Olympics Halfpipe event. In 2015, Farrington announced her early retirement due to a condition known as congenital cervical stenosis, a narrowing of the spine in her neck.

WHY B4BC: I’m so excited to be joining such a great group of ambassadors on the B4BC team. The mission and goals of B4BC are great, and I couldn’t be happier to be able to be part of such a tremendous organization spreading awareness and knowledge about a disease that touches a lot of us at some point in our lives. Moms, sisters, aunts all are effected, and I hope through B4BC’s efforts we can help fight this disease.
